With the amount of movies and TV shows each have in the works, the Marvel vs DC debate isn't going away any time soon, so based on films from the last 20 years, which company would you say produce the best movies?

Marvel certainly have quantity on their side with the likes of The Avengers, X-Men, The Amazing Spider-Man providing some brilliant instalments to their respective series in recent years along with this year's huge hit Guardians of the Galaxy but there have been some absolute stinkers as well (Hulk, Ghost Rider, Elektra and Toby Maguire's Spider-Man just to name a few).

Meanwhile, although DC haven't had the quantity, they've certainly had the quality with Nolan's Batman series delivering one hell of a trilogy and Man of Steel entering a decent entry last year. With some interesting releases in both TV and Film coming up, they are fighting back.

So Marvel vs DC, The Avengers vs The Justice League, Spider-Man vs Superman, Batman vs Iron Man... Who wins?

I voted for Marvel. Although Nolan's Batman is the best superhero series of them all (in my opinion), the Marvel films have better characters and a less serious side to them which make them more entertaining to watch and ultimately, when you line them up film by film, DC just cannot compete against the films that Marvel have delivered in the last few years.

Tobey's Spiderman a stinker??!! Are you serrrrious?!!? The first and second movies were great, especially the second. Look at the IMDb and other ranking for some second opinions. The first Spiderman reboot (Amazing) was very good as well, but this last one was a step down.

I only watched it for the first time over the summer and thought it was awful, I guess I would have probably appreciated them a lot more had I seen them 12/10 years ago when they first came out. I really didn't like Maguire at all while Garfield is brilliant in my opinion, he's totally nailed the character and attitude from the comic books while Maguire was a bit meh. Emma Stone is much better than Kirsten Dunst as well but I prefer Gwen to Mary Jane in the comics, so I suppose I was always going to favour her.

And you saw Spiderman-2 as well. We have different sets of eyes, or maybe CGI has simply come a long way. I haven't seen it myself since it came out, but that was a good film.

They are not both great. Too many superhero movies, they are so predictable and samey. The audience knows who wins before the film is released. Where is the surprise?

The Dark Knight trilogy is miles ahead of any other superhero film or series.
When it comes to movies, who wants quantity over quality? This isn't food, they are works of art (at least they are supposed to be). Of course they are entertainment also. Man of Steel although not great was still quite epic.

Look at it this way, would you rather listen to a lot of awful music or a small amount of brilliant music?

Fair enough, as long as we're in the clear that the last one was basically Nolan straining to match the towering Dark Knight (II), and coming up with more-is-ever-so-slightly-less. That second film still does it for me 6 years later. Heath Ledger we miss you.

Third film was still better than 99% of comic book based stuff

Surprised to see DC winning this poll. There's been a few releases since we did it, are DC still on top for you?

I'm looking forward to Dr Strange. Captain America didn't really do it for me.

Nobody can eat 50 eggs

It's still familiar stuff but the CGI is ahead of its time. And it's not afraid to poke a bit of fun at itself either.
