People do not like to speak out on controversial stuff, that's why it is..controversial. But still I have two questions.

A Does UKIP have a future?
B Is there anything in UKIP's message that the country needs?

They mostly can divide and take precious points from main parties. They can not expected to be in government.

I'll pass thank you very much. With things like this it's so difficult to make any prediction. Let me just say that I would be surprised if they flourish much more than they have. My reasons? Nigel Farage is a bullish man, the party attracts fringe extremists that tend to put their foot in the mouth, and they constantly have to clean up one gaffe after another. Will this party appeal to the general public?

Looks like Carswell made it safe in. Something to celebrate. I understand many people feel mixed ab out the party, but we are on a road to NOWHERE shackled to the drifting ship of the EU.

UKIP: only sensible party out there. No brainer really. We pay tons of money to the EU and get petty laws whereas the ordinary man does not benefit in any way at all. Watch this happen.

As calculated as Cameron's comments are, they are most likely true. A vote for UKIP (In this election anyhow) will be a vote for a labour government. The Conservative party's recent recovery will very possibly maintain itself throughout the next 6 months. Economic recovery has been better than projected, and the Tories have been sailing the storms with some success.

UKIP would maybe replace the LibDems as the alternative party......as the 3rd in the country yes.....and that is a heck of a change and shift

Cameron is giving it 'one more shot' with the EU to limit immigration. I feel personally that he's not. He won't get what he wants, but he went to say he tried, and will commit to a referendum once the Tories are re-elected.

You may well be correct; it may play out this way, intentionally or not. If the conservative party intends to place a referendum (as Johnson confirms), this would mean the end of EU partnership for the United Kingdom. I do not see how a popular vote support the membership any longer.

They just had a big set back today as the Euro Sceptic bloc collapsed. The demise will cost them a few million, kick starting a funding crisis.

They are a 1 note 1 idea party: UK Independence. That's their name. What after UK leaves the EU? You will still be called UKIP? Nothing is defined in their manifesto except general corporate libertarian waffle. Not buying.

The right idea will save billions. Who will complain when a bright idea gets Britain out of the ditch? Feed on propaganda Mr N and eat Tory placebo.

I thought there must be a thing about UKIP on here and yes. What do you think will happen in the Richester & Strood by-election? Is UKIP going to stride on and make significant gains?

People tend to vote quite differently in by-elections than in National elections. The by-elections are valid enough, but they can be used as a bit of a protest vote. With National elections people tend to be a bit more sensible sometimes.

This was a win, fair and square but not a major one. Around 42% is much less than up in the 50s for the first seat. I say may this trend continue.

They are likely getting 4 or 5 seats in the next election at least. That's a huge leap (forward or backward, depending on your opinion).

4 Candidates have resigned in 1 week. National support has fallen from something like 15% to now 10%. This has to be the worst week for UKIP.
Maybe the title should have been UKIP anyone left?

You'd be surprised they bounce back because their votes are based on grievances that their people feel others ignore.

My feeling is that the men in UKIP are basically male chauvinistic and that why they put off women voters. And then the the women talk to their husbands and change their husbands minds hahaha.

I'm pissed off now. Saying 'vote for other parties if you feel you have to' is a stupid message to send. It makes the party look like they lost confidence and are scrambling and in damage control. Blow that I might just vote for anyone now dont they have some decent strategist there or campaign planners??????

I wonder what will happen with this 640K cash row now. Carswell doesn't want to take more than 300K, Farage says take it all, we need it.
If Carswell would leave the party and run independent, that would be a huge blow to UKIP.

My take is this was not something UKIP will recover from. Unless they get a totally new leader, whos not been with the party before. They are now the party of thugs.
