Why companies lose good staff

I changed jobs on August 30th. And it's taken me this long to start to talk about it, as it was quite emotional. Your job becomes like something of a second (or even first) home. I'm fine now, settled.
I read something over the weekend on company policy that made me think: why do companies lose their best people? My top 3 reasons are:
1 Favouritism. When promotions or raises are given because of relations rather than merit, it breeds resentment.
2 Workload. When you become a beast of burden, tottering under the load, you start to look for a way out.
3 Lack of appreciation. There are so many ways to show appreciation: through words, attitude, recognition, bonuses. When it's not shown, you may as well conclude that you are taken for granted. Sooner or later, people will pack up and seek greener pastures.

I had a job one time and my manager looked trust hrough me, they never actually got my name. I called it a money job. I'm joking about the name but seems I did not exist. It was very discouraging. The personal is just as important as the professional aspect.

Exactly the losers stay as they don't have options and the good ones move on to better things

Also, office gossip. Toxic work atmosphere. No financial incentives. Lack of growth and momentum in the company. If a firm is thriving the employees are happy to stick around more.

Employees also like to feel that their daily dose of investment is to some greater purpose than subsistence and a monthly wage packet. The company that can sell its vision of and for the world, and provide practical and meaningful connections for employees with that very raison d'être, that is a company that can retain its workforce.

Companies losing competent staff is majorly due to stressful environment and lack of empathy, support and appreciation.

Empathy is such a big factor. People feel isolated before we are aware. Awareness-management. Look!!!!!
