Thoughts on this year's entry from the UK? Who's going to win this year's contest?

My music tastes is pretty Rock/Heavy Metal oriented but I have no shame in admitting that I love watching Eurovision every year, mostly for the sheer wackiness of it all. Anyway, I think this year's effort from the UK is pretty awful, discuss...

Very retro and gay-Paris for England. It will get a few votes but no real winner. Unless of course they do the Moulin Rouge strip on the night!!!!

The UK has a time honoured tradition to be crap at Eurovision. I'm proud to note that the organisers have chosen to uphold that tradition in 2015.

Less than a week to go! Current top 5 favourites with the bookies...

Sweden 13/8
Italy 3/1
Australia 5/1
Estonia 9/1
Russia 10/1

While we're on the subject, what do you think of their decision to include Australia this year?

Australia should be there of course. The kings of corn; an essential addition.

Armenia, Israel, Australia, these countries have strong links with Europe in terms of ancestry, certainly the last two. It still doesn't make a lot of sense but sense is never been Eurovision's strongest point.
Did you actually hear the Ozzie song, Mitch? I think it's maybe a bit dated but quite catchy. I think it has more of a chance than the over the top operetta turn from the Italians.

Grande Amore it's called. Because its emotional I think it will come out strong in a live event like this. And their lead singer is pretty hot!

Sweden was good and innovative. On the strength of the song alone though they never wouldve got it. The multimedia pushed it over the edge.

It was sad to see Britain ignored like that. Nobody gave the song a chance in the predictions so no big surprise b ut we have to get our act together?!

IT'S JUST ROTTEN LUCK. IF THE RIGHT SONG DOPESN'T COME ALONG` ITS A NON STARTER. SOME OF COURSE ARE WELL ABLE TO OVERLOOK THE RIGHT SONG IF & WHEN IT WOULD COME ALONG.

Keep D Change

The recent Eurovision winners show the world has moved on, don't they just? Last year was a personal triumph and this year was a triumph of innovation. Both were bold and fresh choices. What Britain has come out with these last years has been twee and retro and just plain irrelevant. Maybe its time to take a good hard look at the National selection committee.
