Sibling Rivalry?

It does not seem to end in my family. Me and my sister have a feud going that started when my mother passed away 4 years ago. It was not because of money but because of how tasks and responsibility were divided amongst us. It seems that we're stuck really, we are not even on talking terms, and you don't want that with your family. I actually believe that our parents would have been able to mend things, but of course they are not here. Do you experience sibling rivalry?

My partner's family is like that you know, like a cold war. What's the point I wonder. If you don't like each other then don't interact. But it's 'can't live with them can't live without them' as they say.

To me you share with a few people in the world your genes......and nobody really understands you like your siblings......maybe even better than your parents......at least in my experience......but you also see each other at your worst...I think I'm lucky with my family we're 3 sisters and very close.

Just a half sister and me. Yes close I think rivalry comes in when you are the same gender,

It's the whole thing of who says sorry first. You both wish the other would but you feel you're right and that's how years pass. This went on for years with my brother (6 and a half). It's hardly worth it.

Yes most family feuds are something along those lines. But what if it's just a matter of difference of opinion? Or the feeling that you are growing apart because of difference of opinion? There's really not that sort of event to point back to, nothing to say sorry for if you will. I'd like to think I'd be the first to say sorry if I thought that would be the right thing to do.
