1. How Do I Start A Debate?
In order to start a debate, you need to be a Soapbox member. Membership is free. On the top right corner of the page you will find the 'log in'. Press that to sign up or log into Soapbox. As soon as you are logged in, you will find a menu bar at the top of the page. On the right side of the bar, you will find the 'Create a Debate' button. All you have to do is press the button and follow the instructions.
2. How Do I Decide On a Category For My Debate?
Debates on Soapbox are placed in categories. Every category covers an area of interest. Have a look at the list under each category at the bottom of the page to see if you can find the right one for you. If you make a mistake, nothing is lost, but i may be harder for people to find you.
3. What Is The Megaphone For?
The Megaphone puts your post up where more people can see it. The Megaphone only last for a limited amount of time, but you can always put your Debate on Megaphone again if you want to. You can either earn Megaphones or pay for them.
4. How Do People Join My Audience?
If other Soapbox users like your debate, they can press the 'Join audience' button near your name. They can also go to your userpage by clicking on your name and join your audience there. You will then see their name among your audience members. You can see who is in your audience by clicking on your own name which takes you to your userpage. All the information will be there for you!
5. What is a Soapbox Society?
A Society is a group of people that share the same interest. For example, if your hobby is Scuba Diving, you might join a Scuba Diving Society in order to discuss the sport with other divers.
6. How Can I Join A Society?
If you want to join a Society, click on the name of the Society and press the 'Join' button. Some Societies are open, others have conditions. They might send you an application form. They Society then secides if your application was successful.
7. How Do I Start A Society?
At the top of your menu bar you will find a 'Create a Society' button. All you have to do is press the button and follow the instructions.
8. What Is The Writers' Corner?
Writers' Corner is a place for people who love to read and write something else than debates. This might be a short story, a diary, or even an online book! Every writer must submit only what they have written themselves: they can not submit other people's published or copy-righted material.
